God of War Gets New Game Plus on August 20

Sony's Santa Monica Studio announced today a release date for God of War's New Game+ mode that'll allow players to replay the game's story once again will all your earned loot in tow. "Remember, to access all the greatness of New Game+, you'll need to complete the story campaign of God of War on any difficulty". After that, the feature will be available once players have then patched the game with the New Game Plus update as well.

Another feature of New Game+ is the ability to skip cut scenes - a much-requested option from the game's fan base.

More specifically, the update holding New Game Plus will launch on August 20. You can set it to the same difficulty or choose a new one. However, Santa Monica Studio is going one step further; enemies will be more hard to dispatch, and there's a brand new rarity level of gear to craft and upgrade. Kratos and Atreus' abilities, enchantments, pieces of equipment, resources, and talismans from your previous run will remain with you.

The God Of War team has revealed the first details about the game's highly-anticipated New Game Plus mode.

Unique to New Game+ is a brand new rarity level of equipment to craft and upgrade!

On a personal front, I've been thinking about replaying God of War a lot recently and this New Game+ option might finally get me to jump back in. Speaking of armors, you can collect a new type of resource called "Skap Slag" to give your gear the highest upgrade possible.
