Legend England bowler smashed by golf ball … by himself!

The England fans following Stuart Broad's various social media accounts would have had their heart in their mouth as he posted a video of his new-ball partner James Anderson injuring himself while playing Golf.

James Anderson, England's leading wicket-taker in Tests, emerged with his humour and chin intact after he injured himself playing golf.

The speedster recently tried his hand at the sport, practising his swing during a warm-up round at Stoke Park ahead of England's golf day.

It all happened in a flash which is why it is difficult to make out whether the ball richoted off the tree in front of him or Anderson sliced the ball so hard that it hit him on the face.

Anderson and Broad are expected to be rested for some of the Test series against India this summer but they have been named in the England squad for the second match at Lord's, which gets underway on Thursday.

Firstly, questions have to be asked about Anderson's initial tee shot as the 36-year-old is seen in a wooded area and standing over the ball, contemplating how he is going to get out of the trees.

Luckily, no major damage was caused as Stuart Broad, who was also present at the venue, recorded the entire incident.

Anderson and Broad were enjoying a day off after their victory in the first Test against India, but there was a scary moment when Anderson was taking a shot from the woods.

The match was a thriller as the fortunes fluctuated from one team to another throughout the course of the match.

The second Test starts on August 9 at Lord's.

Both Anderson and Broad played key roles in the thrilling match.
