McDonald's mobile customers get chance to win food for life

"McDelivery, mobile ordering, and now the chance to win free craveable, delicious McDonald's for life", Professor of McDonald's History and Fry Law Rhonda McDougal claims. Starting this Friday, the burger giant will be giving one lucky victor that opportunity, launching a sweepstakes for an extremely rare McGold Card which bestows upon the holder the equivalent of free McDonald's for the rest of their life.

The food-for-life opportunity comes via the "ultimate in VIP status: the Mobile McGold Card", according to a release issued Thursday. The card is actually a gold plated phone case that will be awarded to the competition's victor.

The McGold Card doesn't necessarily mean unlimited food however. Even Rob Lowe and Bill Gates don't have one of those, so take that, dudes who can already afford all the McDonald's they want but don't have to pay for it anyway! That enters you in the contest to win the prize, valued at $52,350, although the begrudging admiration of your friends and enemies is priceless.

In order to be able to win, customers have to place an order using the McDonald's mobile application between August 10 and August 24. The mysterious McGold Card, which for years has been rumored to grant a select few free McDonald's for life, is in fact real and returning for one fortunate fan.

At a ceremony introducing The Gateway Arch in 1965, McDonald's gave out the first McGold Card to the mayor of St. Louis, MO that awarded a lifetime of free McDonald's. They'll also receive a 24-carat gold-plated phone cased etched with their name.
