One Week Until DOOM Eternal’s Gameplay Reveal

Doom Eternal - rip and tear!

Games Inbox: Are you still playing Fortnite?

At least you don't have to worry about the shadowy form of another Doom Slayer showing up to Glory Kill you; in this case, the invading players will possess a demon and try to use its abilities to ruin your day.

It all looked just as over-the-top and gory (without being too gross) as you'd expect and towards the end of the footage you can see Doomguy descend into a more organic-looking hellscape.

It is even more than exciting to have DOOM Slayer back in this DOOM sequel.

It seemed very much inspired by the Dark Souls series but id clarified that it was purely optional and that more multiplayer options would be revealed in time... Pain Elementals, Arachnotrons, and Arch-Viles are making their comeback in DOOM Eternal.

Bethesda said today that there are twice as many demons as there were the last time, and a number of the enemies from DOOM 2 are being updated for this game. It's a fun way to get around and it lets you skip all that awkward mid-range combat where the Super Shotgun can't aerosolize faces.

At QuakeCon this week, the studio unloaded the first gameplay footage from Doom Eternal, sharing a generous seven-minute slice of in-game action that should put to rest any doubt that this encore effort will diverge from its predecessor's winning formula. There's also a new dash feature that allows the player to quickly burst forward before slaughtering large groups of demons.

There's a lot to be excited about, but DOOM Eternal doesn't have a release date yet.
