Petition calls for LeBron James to be U.S. Secretary of Education

You know LeBron James the National Basketball Association superstar, the philanthropist and soon-to-be Hollywood producer.

The Care2 petition, which was first posted on Tuesday afternoon, has already garnered more than 9,500 signatures of the 10,000 required. And it's gaining steam, with more than 16,000 signees and counting supporting the idea of James taking over Betsy DeVos' job as U.S. Secretary of Education. While James is lauded as "an inspiration to kids all over the country".

The petition has been signed by almost 8,500 people as of 6 a.m. Thursday.

James recently opened his I Promise school, which will serve predominantly low-income students in Akron, Ohio.

"Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon". He made Lebron look smart, which isn't easy to do.

Although James didn't respond to Trump's tweets last week, other professional athletes did. We certainly deserve better!

James and current Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, are each of the two "candidates" listed on the petition. 'If that's stupid, I wonder what he'd call Betsy DeVos for doing absolutely nothing for schools and children across America'.

Curry adds that people can't allow Trump to divide them. The school triggered lawsuits amid accusations of fraud.

However, there were those that felt James is getting too much credit for his new public school because the majority of the costs will come from taxpayers. But it can be seen as a new statement of discontent by critics of the Trump administration and DeVos, who has always been a detractor of USA public schools and who once called them a "dead end".
