Raiders DE Khalil Mack could be a trade candidate

Raiders DE Khalil Mack could be a trade candidate

"I can't believe (direction of football administration) Tom Delaney, who negotiates the Raiders deals, hasn't reached out to (Mack's agent) Joel Segal".

But this offseason it appears Mack is unhappy with his current contract. Having been drafted in 2014, Mack has already been named a three-time Pro Bowler, three-time First-Team All-Pro and once the defensive player of the year.

First, it is important to highlight what the cost to acquire Khalil Mack would be if the Raiders were intent on trading him.

Because of Mack's $13-plus million cap figure (fully guaranteed), the Rams would have to likely send a player with a similarly high cap number to the Raiders. From this standpoint, it is essential for the Raiders to bring back top value for Mack if they do in fact decide to trade him.

If you take a look around the internet, you will see that there are really no experts out there who expect the Oakland Raiders to be any good this season.

The Packers would seem to have the resources necessary to land an elite player like Mack.

But, apparently Mack wants even more than that. These detractors will also say that they are proven correct in their philosophy to draft and develop because of the Packers recent playoff streak which lasted for eight seasons (2009-2016).

"I think Nevada, and the state taxes, may be involved", Papa added. Papa said. "I don't know how this is going to play out".

Taking off from an idea floated by Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, which said that Mack is a potential preseason trade candidate, Zach Kruse of USA TODAY made some points about how the Green Bay Packers checks the boxes of a team that can be a potential destination for the defensive end via a trade. On the field, new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine might see a big need at edge rusher, based on the health status of Clay Matthews and Nick Perry and the development of Kyler Fackrell, Vince Biegel, Reggie Gilbert, Chris Odom and Kendall Donnerson.
