The Crazy Rich Asians Cast Looked Crazy Glamorous on the Red Carpet

Crazy Rich Asians hits United States theaters on August 15, and Philippine theaters on August 22.

Months after wrapping "Crazy Rich Asians" the movie's sprawling ensemble cast still stays close through the magic of technology.

The story follows New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his best friend's wedding in Singapore.

Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair also gave the movie a fairly positive review, but yearned for more from it.

"It's been way too long since we had an all-star Asian cast in a Hollywood studio movie, but at the same time, this movie is for everyone", Kwan told Reuters at the red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Brian Lowry of CNN lauded it for its refreshing take on the romantic comedy genre, noting the chemistry between Golding and Wu and the film's many comedic elements.

Streamlining much of this, to make a coherent two-hour movie, was inevitable, and devout fans of the book might be disappointed by some of the changes.

Early critics of the film have called it a "highly satisfying, decidedly old-fashioned romantic comedy, " "heartwarming, well-acted - and decadent", and "breathless fun".

"Crazy Rich Asians" is a glitzy story that follows NY professor Rachel Chu (Wu) on a trip with her boyfriend, fellow professor Nick Young (Golding), to his family's home of Singapore.

"Crazy Rich Asians" may be the first Hollywood movie in 25 years with an all-Asian cast but the filmmakers hope it will be enjoyed by moviegoers of all backgrounds.

'Director Jon M. Chu (Now You See Me 2) never lets you doubt for a moment that Rachel and Nick will find their happily ever after, or that the choice between love and money is one either of them will actually have to make.

The film "Crazy Rich Asians" is slated to be released worldwide this August.
