AKG brings active noise cancelling headphones with 20 hours of performance

The N700NC over-the-ear model sports features that include adaptive noise canceling, thanks to which users can control how much surrounding noise they want to let in. The flagship product, the N700 noise-cancelling headphones, is not quite available yet, but the Y500 and Y100 headphones are on Amazon, AKG.com, and other retailers starting today.

Alongside the N700NC, the other headphones slated for United States release, the AKG Y500 and AKG Y100, are a pair of wireless on-ear and in-ear headphones, respectively.

The Y100 is an entry-level pair of neck-encricled in-ear Bluetooth headphones created to be feather-weight at just 24 grams while delivering up to 8 hours of battery life.

That said, the Samsung and AKG claim the N700NC only has around 20 hours of battery life after a two hour charge, compared to the 30 on the Sony WH-1000XM3. The Y500 model also have multipoint connectivity, so they can simultaneously connect to and use two Bluetooth-connected devices.

Samsung says the N700NC also has top-rate audio technology that eliminates echoes and hits the right balance between noise cancellation and ambient awareness to result in clear voice calls.

The AKG Y500 will offer up around 33 hours of battery life and come in four colors (black, blue, green, pink) while the Y100 last up to 8 hours and will be available in the same shades.

If you're willing to shell out a few Benjamins for an immersive listening experience, though, you'll probably prefer the premium over-ear model making its way to retail stores later this year.

The $99.95 AKG Y100 are wireless Bluetooth headphones similar in design to other headphones we've seen like the Aukey BP-40.
