Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal backs actress Tanushree Dutta

Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Alankrita Shrivastava and Swara Bhasker are among those who have expressed their belief in Dutta's version of the events. She further alleged that when she failed by his demands, Patekar sent a gang of goons to harass her.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, the Commission chief said, "TanushreeDutta revelations are disturbing to say the least". She went on to add that is is for people in the future who will come forward to talk about such incidents.

Tanushree Dutta has triggered off a #MeToo movement of sorts in Bollywood.

The actor said despite so many eye witness accounts she is being subjected to "criminal intimidation and harassment".

In an interview with India Today Television, Tanushree claimed that Nana was "lurking" on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss for no reason when she was shooting for a solo number.

Several other film celebrities have praised Dutta's decision to speak about the incident, stressing on the importance of listening to those who speak about abuse and harassment.

Dutta also appealed to the Bar Council of India to take strict action against Patekar's lawyer.

Hitting back to Nana Patekar's claims that he is going to take legal action against Tanushree Dutta, an infuriated Dutta said that she is putting together a team of lawyers and advocates to defend her interests. Tanushree walked out of the film after Nana allegedly coerced the makers to add an "intimate dance" with her.

Nana Patekar's lawyer on Friday said that were sending a legal notice to Tanushree Dutta demanding an apology for her statements. The political party has also threatened to agitate against Dutta if she does not give an unconditional apology to the actor, whom it describes as the "pride of Maharashtra".
