Hugo Lloris: Tottenham goalkeeper out for 'several weeks' with thigh injury

Kane is likely to lead the line for Spurs when they host Klopp's Liverpool on Saturday as the Premier League returns after the global break.

Alli missed England's friendly win against Switzerland on Tuesday with a hamstring strain, and Spurs have confirmed he will play no part in their meeting with Jurgen Klopp's side at lunchtime on Saturday.

I think it is a situation that is under control I think but we respect all opinion and maybe some opinions are different to us.

"Because we are talking about Harry Kane everyone expects him in every action to do something different".

Asked if the World Cup victor would remain as captain, Pochettino said: "Of course".

Lloris, who was sentenced for a drink-driving charge on Wednesday, will be missing for several weeks with a thigh injury.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to make some changes ahead of Saturday's visit of Liverpool as Dele Alli has been ruled out of the game due to injury.

"First of all I want to say that they deserved the victory", Pochettino said.

"Liverpool are one of the best teams in Europe, not only in England and have very good players, great manager and of course it will be a very tough game and will demand a lot of energy". He said he was guilty of this situation and it's irresponsible. He has the possibility and the potential but now it is up to him and we go again: mentality.

Lloris was on Monday fined £50,000 (US$65,000) and handed a 20-month driving ban for drink-driving.

"He's punishing himself. But of course we're not God, that we can judge people. Spurs are not resting you so we are going to have to take that responsibility to thank Spurs for having you for the World Cup".

Lloris missed the defeat at Watford before the global break after suffering the problem during the win over Manchester United in late August and the French worldwide is expected to be out for several weeks.
