Indianapolis qualifying canceled, Race time changed due to weather

Persistent rain washed out the Brickyard 400 and delayed the conclusion of NASCAR's regular season in Indianapolis while Justin Rose has to wait until Monday to have a shot at getting to No. 1 in the world.

As a result of the rain, this new start time could not be adhered to. The race originally was scheduled for Sunday afternoon, but was moved to Monday due to heavy rains.

The Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will use the same aerodynamic package used at this track last season that produced a record number of race leaders (8) and lead changes (16). Unfortunately rain and mist has been on the track all day and plans for the Cup race have been on hold.

Both NASCAR races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be run on Monday. Kyle Busch, a six-time victor this season, has the top starting spot for the Big Machine Vodka 400, sharing the front row with seven-time victor Kevin Harvick. Cable subscribers can also watch on the NBC Sports app.
