Leonard Fournette Doesn't Need To Practice In Order To Face Patriots

But that doesn't mean Fournette won't play.

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone says he has not watched a Super Bowl in over 30 years.

This Sunday's showdown obviously is a huge test for both teams, and the Jags nearly certainly would like to exact some revenge after losing to the Patriots in last season's AFC Championship Game with a trip to Super Bowl LII on the line.

Fournette rushed for 41 yards on nine carries before he left the game against the Giants.

Last season, Fournette ran for 1,081 yards at a 3.9 yards-per-carry clip. He also had three receptions for 18 yards against the Giants, one of which was a touchdown.

On Wednesday's conference call ahead of the Patriots-Jaguars rematch this week, reporters asked Marrone if he watched the Eagles-Patriots Super Bowl game from last season.

Marrone's message that Fournette could play without practicing has been consistent throughout the week. I do feel comfortable with him [playing without practice], probably more of someone I have not been around.

"Probably when I wasn't coaching and I was allowed to gamble", Marrone said.

The Patriots and Jaguars will kick off at 4:25 p.m. from TIAA Bank Field.
