Nintendo Switch Online Members Can Get NES Controllers And Splatoon 2 Gear

Nintendo has announced that it will roll out a new Switch update on September 18, created to lock user profiles to their linked Nintendo Accounts.

Nintendo has been drip-feeding details about the service for months, starting with confirmation that subscribers will have access to classic NES games with additional modern features such as online play and voice chat. Super Mario Bros. and forthcoming Excitebike and Ice Climber games. But we do know that the service will enable online play, cloud game saving and more. Some existing titles such as Splatoon 2 have received significant updates, too.

Are you excited for Switch Online to hit, or are you just disappointed that you'll have to pay to play online soon? The information on Switch Online, however, still refers to voice chat only in reference to the app, meaning Nintendo might stick with this asinine idea in spite of the better options. You also have the option of a family subscription. You can make use of a seven-day free trial by signing up on the Nintendo eShop starting September 18.
