Slight risk for severe weather this Tuesday evening

The bi-state area can expect isolated showers and thunderstorms Tuesday into the evening, with many areas expecting no rain at all. There's even an outside chance that there could be a scattered power outage in a handful of spots, as the strongest gusts could exceed 30 miles an hour. Most of the activity will be in the afternoon.

Sunshine is supposed to return on Thursday, and "seasonably cool and less humid weather" should see us through to the weekend, forecasters said. The models are not consistent yet on the strength of the cold front, so stay tuned as the Channel 3 Storm Alert Team keeps you updated on the rain chances and if lower temperatures will still come our way.

If you're wondering about foliage it's going to be somewhat late this year because of the warm start to the fall.

Tuesday: Showers and some tropical downpours developing late morning.

Tuesday Night: Warm and muggy.

WEDNESDAY | Rain and storm chances mainly early. Temperatures rising to near 70 by morning.

Skies are a mix of sun and cloud and the wind is east at 20 km/h. Temperatures will cool by a few degrees Wednesday and Thursday with overnight lows reaching the 60s Thursday and Friday mornings.
