Video Shows Texas Man Shot Dead by Neighbors During Alleyway Dispute

Howard told Miller to put it back in the dumpster. Then Michael Miller is seen taking aim with his shotgun.

The graphic video of the shooting can be viewed below. Behind him, Michael Miller has a shotgun in his right hand and is resting it on his shoulder, behind his head. "That's when John [Miller] pulled a pistol out of his shorts", Box said.

'Hey, did you hear him say he's going to kill me?' Howard says to Box as she's filming. Howard, who appears unarmed, asks Box, before turning back to the Millers.

Box gave the footage to local station KTXS and said that Howard's nieces and nephews were watching in the back yard as the violence escalated.

Howard is overheard saying, "shoot me" before someone off camera says, "you're dead, point it".

"Hey, you hear he says he's going to kill me?" Howard then gets angrier and starts shouting that Miller "pulled a gun in front of [our] children!"

The Millers mentioned that they're defending their homes, to which Box informed them that they're in an alley and not on their property. The police arrived soon after and the Millers were arrested.

Howard had been shot at least twice, said Standridge, the police chief.

Police Chief Standridge said four, possibly five, people were involved in the confrontation.

Box said they had moved to that Abilene home in April, but they had never talked to the Millers until the morning of September 1.

See that site or the Star-Telegram to view Box's graphic, almost three-minute video of the expletive-filled showdown between Howard and his neighbors, which Box says started after she and Howard threw an old mattress into a dumpster in the alley behind their Abilene home. Howard tells the Millers, "You're dead".

"You can see that I stepped in between them, and I said, 'You're not going to shoot my husband, ' then he fired past my head", Box said.

Howard then barked at his two armed neighbors to leave the scene, according to the report.

Box said Howard battled mental illness his entire life, but was getting help for a condition called IED, otherwise known as Intermittent Explosive Disorder, before he was killed.

The two shirtless men are holding the weapons while engaged in a verbal confrontation with Howard.

The father and son have been charged with first-degree murder.

Taylor County District Attorney Jim Hicks told KTXS: "Video evidence like this is always graphic and very hard to watch".

"Video evidence like this is always graphic and very hard to watch, but it is consistent with the charges", said district attorney Jim Hicks. However, both are out of jail on $25,000 bond, according to KTXS.

On Thursday, John and Michael Miller said they didn't want to talk about that day or the charges against them.
