Apple to launch iPad and lower-cost MacBook on October 30

The world's most valuable company sent out a small number of invites to select media and industry types with the tagline "There's more in the making". This should be considered a near-term catalyst for unit growth and confidence in management to hit the Street's financial targets has increased.

Several question marks remain ahead of the product launch with potential surprise announcements including the delayed AirPower charger, according to The Verge.

The new iPad Pro is the biggest and fastest Apple tablet to date.

What will be under the lid when Apple unveils its new MacBooks? This image looks like Simpsons with Marge at the bottom, but expect more artistic flair from the event. There will be two, as usual, with expectations that there will be one with an 11-inch display, and the other with a 12.9-inch screen.

Apple has just sent out press invites for a special event in NY on October 30.

Japanese technology news website Macotakara spoke to a range of accessory makers at the Global Sources Mobile Electronics trade show in Hong Kong, and was told the iPad Pro 2018 would have a USB-C port rather than a Lightning port. A change of venue may also be in place to match the theme of the event.

In addition to that, there are rumors that Apple will be introducing new Mac hardware at the event as well, including a refreshed MacBook Air with a Retina display. The new iPad devices are also said to ditch the TouchID home button and instead include the FaceID mechanism. The wild card could be AirPods 2, with its wireless charging case? There has been an additional rumor that suggests we will see new Macs announced, particularly a new and refreshed Mac mini for the first time in four years.
