Pereira, who spent last season on loan at Valencia, said he and his teammates had a positive relationship with Mourinho despite reports that some players were unhappy with him.

The latest stories coming out of Old Trafford suggest that Manchester United - previously the most stable club in the world and now a walking, talking, revenue-generating soap opera masquerading as a football club - have gotten themselves into yet another ridiculous situation.

The confrontation happened in the aftermath of United's elimination from the Carabao Cup by Championship side Derby.

Unsurprisingly, the Red Devils manager hasn't been afraid to reply to Scholes through the British media in the past but the Portuguese coach refused to be drawn on his recent comments.

Manchester United players are reportedly unhappy with the level of criticism they have received from former stars like Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand, with videos of their predecessors making mistakes on the pitch apparently being shared throughout the squad. "I do think they miss a couple of real class players that other top teams seem to have - a link player between the midfield and the forwards and also a controlling midfield player", he added.

"But I get what he's trying to get to. I've had loads of bad games, but never on goal". "Being here is already something big for me".

"We have Jesse [Lingard] who, on his day, can be that type of player, but you never really know what his best position is", he said.

However, the 20-time English champions signed just three players in the summer as Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant arrived at Old Trafford ahead of the new season.

"We were winning the game 1-0 at the time of the video", he told UOL Sport.

Their next Premier League clash will see Mourinho's men make the hard trip to second-placed Chelsea FC on Saturday lunchtime.
