Porsche Panamera GTS revealed, here first quarter of 2019

Porsche has revealed the Panamera and Panamera Sport Turismo GTS, a new sub-Turbo variants for its four- and five-door executive express.

The heart of the matter is the V8 with 460 hp and 620 Nm of torque.

As is typical with a GTS-trim auto, the standard equipment list is a greatest hits album of the standard Panamera's options list.

The V-8 is mated to an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system. Top speed is 181 miles per hour for the Panamera GTS and 179 miles per hour for the longer-roofed Sport Turismo variant. Fuel consumption is a decent 10.3 litres per 100 km (10.6 litres per 100 km for the Sport Turismo) and a gasoline particulate filter is fitted.

Created to reflect the sporting prowess of the Panamera GTS models, the chassis systems are impressively dynamic.

Of course, the performance changes extend beyond the engine compartment as the Panamera GTS comes standard with an adaptive air suspension and a 10mm reduced ride height. Compared with those in the 4S, the GTS brake rotors are larger, at 15.4 inches in front and 14.4 inches at the rear.

The sportier performance is reflected in the car's styling as the GTS features a Sport Design package with black accents. There's also a heated multifunction sport steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara trim that makes my hands sweat just thinking about it. An optional GTS package allows drivers to customize the rev counter, designer seams and GTS logos in contrasting shade.

The GTS models offer all the same tech as the second-generation Panamera range, which first surfaced in mid 2016. There's also an optional head-up and a digital Porsche Advanced Cockpit with adaptive cruise control and rear axle steering available for a few more bucks. Porsche says both models are available to order now. The display can be configured by the driver and projects all relevant information directly into their direct line of sight in full colour. Porsche's first road-approved sports auto, the 904 Carrera GTS, was launched in 1963, bringing racing tech to the streets.

In the United Kingdom, pricing starts at £105,963 for the Panamera GTS and £108,110 for the Panamera GTS Sports Turismo (including VAT). The first generation of the Panamera GTS followed in 2011, initially available as a sports saloon only.
