Subhash Ghai denies allegations, threatens defamation

Ghai is among the several celebrities who have been called out as part of the raging #MeToo movement. "Destiny shows u good times bad times - I m deeply pained 2b [to be] gripped in this movement but thank those who know me and my respect I shower to women and their dignity in spite of our cosmetic world we live and react more through our love affection and respect".

Meanwhile, veteran actor-lyricist Piyush Mishra made it to the growing list of alleged offenders when a former journalist accused him of misbehaving with her at a party. The accuser told Mahima that the incident happened when she was "working with Subhash Ghai on a film". The anonymous woman's message was shared on Twitter by writer Mahima Kukreja, who was one of the first women to accuse comedian Utsav Chakraborty of sexual harassment last week.

Her post read: "In the beginning, he would take me to music recordings and I would have to sit there till very late at night with other male members".

The woman said she worked with Ghai on a film years ago and he started taking an extra interest in her and would often call her for script sessions at his apartment, which he would call his "thinking pad". When recordings finished I took an auto home or he would drop me. "In one of the script sessions, he started talking about how misunderstood he was in the industry and only I was the one who loved him". He pretended to weep and put his head in my lap.

Even though the woman has requested to hide identity saying that this was to prevent the adverse emotional impact on her parents and child, a Twitter blue tick could be seen in her conversation. "I was shocked and left that day". It was spiked. After that, I remember getting into a vehicle and I thought that he was driving me home.

The woman also wrote that one evening after the music session, Ghai had offered a drink to her and it was spiked.

"It's very sad that it's becoming a fashion to malign anyone known, bringing some stories from past without any truth or half-truth". "I deny strictly and firmly all false allegations like these", added the director.

The director said he has always been respectful towards women in life as well in workplace. Ghai also said that the complainant should go to the court of law and prove her allegations, otherwise he will file a defamation case against the latter.
