Fantastic Beasts European premiere in Paris

Warner Bros.' Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has debuted on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes with a 56% "rotten".

Professor McGonagall is set to star in the new film but Harry Potter fans aren't happy about it. There are plenty more reviews still to be counted, so expect that Tomatometer score to chop and change over the course of the weekend.

She says in the book that she started working at Hogwarts in December 1956, having worked for the Ministry of Magic for two years after her graduation.

Fans on Twitter really appreciated Miller's dedication to self-expression. "As an adult. Shouldn't she not even be born?"

And some fans pointed out that it may not be that McGonagall - and that the Minerva McGonagall she is playing could be her mum or her grandmum, and they just share the same name.

This is not the first or most significant controversy the film has courted, such as the casting of trash-being Johnny Depp, or the weird, potentially insensitive casting of Voldemort's snake.

The Crimes of Grindelwald, ' our crew of beast-loving wizards and loveable muggles have a lot to fear in the form of the white-haired title character.

The second movie in the instalment is said to include lots of action in and around the United Kingdom - including scenes at Hogwarts. We'll have to wait and see.
