Friends Ross Lookalike Arrested

Friends Ross Lookalike Arrested

British police thanked "Friends" star David Schwimmer on Tuesday after arresting an alleged thief whose case went viral on social media because of his uncanny resemblance to the U.S. actor.

An appeal for information on the suspect was first put up on the Blackpool police's Facebook page, with a surveillance camera still of the man, who is the spitting image of Schwimmer, clutching a crate of beer.

He was caught on CCTV carrying the cans up an aisle, with Schwimmer's video response also showing him carrying beer in an American supermarket.

"Officers, I swear it wasn't me", wrote Schwimmer with his Instagram video (watch it below). As you can see, I was in NY.

Lancashire Police posted a tweet today saying that they'd arrested a 36-year-old man in London yesterday on suspicion of theft.

"Thanks for the support, especially @DavidSchwimmer!".

A David Schwimmer lookalike suspected of theft has been arrested by the Lancashire police in Britain.

Schwimmer apparently assisted the investigation by doing nothing more than ruling himself out of the suspect pool early.

'To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation'.

London's Metropolitan Police Department tweeted back, "Happy to help", adding a flawless hashtag: #IllBeThereForYou. With a tweet of their own, they thanked the sitcom star "for being there for us", - a rather oblique reference to the lyrics of the Friends theme song.

Aaron Milburn added: 'Please approach with caution.

Another user said: 'So no one told you life was gonna be this way; Your job's a joke, you're broke; Your love life's DOA; It's like you're always stuck in second gear; And before you know it you're in SPAR stealing some beer'. "We're so sorry it has to be this way".
