Lewis Hamilton threatens to quit Formula One

On Wednesday Formula One confirmed a new grand prix in Hanoi, which will be a street race.

The 2019 schedule also has 21 races but will run from mid-March to early December, while owner Liberty Media is keen to add further grands prix.

"Obviously, the last race was a tough one to swallow and probably the winter will be as well", said the four-time world champion.

Before this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix, the 20th race of this year, the 33-year-old said: "It already..." "It's not something I've asked Valtteri if he wants, but I don't think he's going to want that. It's most likely I'm not going to be here when it gets to 25 that's for sure".

Ferrari have earned six victories so far this season while Mercedes have earned nine, meaning that with two races remaining on the 2018 schedule, they can not possibly match, much less pass, the win total of the Brackley-based team.

"It already feels like are on race 25 this year, so I don't think that's a good thing".

"You start preparing for next year as soon as the season is done, so getting your mind tuned is very hard".

"I've not won here in Brazil for a long time, so I want to win here".

"Getting your mind turned".

Even with these results, Ferrari only managed to outscore Mercedes by 11 points, so it will be extremely challenging for them to outscore them by at least 13 points in the Brazilian Grand Prix to take the constructor championship battle to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Kimi Raikkonen of Finland and Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel of Germany and Ferrari look at a paddock display during previews ahead of the Formula One Grand Prix of Mexico at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on October 25, 2018 in Mexico City, Mexico.

"For sure he won it", he said. In the end, if you ask 10 people, they all have different views how it's been won or lost.

He added that it was more important for the team to succeed in the constructors' championship.

Hamilton wore a green and navy Kith hooded top and tracksuit bottoms, along with a denim jacket, topped with a Mercedes-brand cap, to keep on message with his F1 team.

Ferrari has enjoyed the upper-hand over Mercedes in recent races - outscoring its rivals by 12 points in the USA and 11 points in Mexico - so it will require a better weekend at Interlagos if it is to take the battle to Abu Dhabi in two weeks' time.
