Lionel Messi trained by himself a day after Inter 1-1 Barcelona

Lionel Messi is available to play for Barcelona, having recovered from the the broken arm he suffered October 20 that sidelined him for three games.

Mauro Icardi celebrating a goal for Inter. Keeping Messi on the bench should give confidence to the rest of the players that he trusts them to perform, especially the forwards.

The Argentine pounced in a goalmouth scramble, spinning and firing home from close range, and rewarding a brilliant performance from keeper Samir Handanovic that kept Inter in a game in which they struggled to get a foothold.

"Barcelona was a dream I had as a child", Malcom said.

"It's not fair that he's judged on one game in the cup because he had hardly played all season before that", he said.

"There's the global break after this game and he'll have two more weeks".

"I do not know if the goal will result in me getting more minutes as it is up to the coach to decide if I should get more space".

"We had even typed out the contract in front of the player himself and his two agents".

"My dream with Barca is just starting".

The Slovenia global made his best save just before the hour mark when he charged out to block Ivan Rakitic's shot as the Croatian bore down on goal. Barcelona has cruised thus far in Champions League play, going 3-0-0 with a plus-eight goal differential. But his saves kept the hosts in the game right until the end, and Icardi took the one chance he had to save a point. However, the team has played well with a sense of unity in all phases of play, and individuals such as Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba have stood up in his absence, so Valverde should keep faith in them. "But we're happy because our main goal of qualifying is achieved".
