Microsoft resumes Windows 10 October 2018 Update

Now, after more than a month of trying to fix it, Microsoft has given the all clear and you should start to see Build 1809 appearing in a Windows Update near you soon.

The Windows 10 October Update was yanked because a number of issues. The rollout today will be a small sample of users.

However, Microsoft later that week blocked the arrival of bits to individuals and organizations, along with the bits of Windows 10 IoT version 1809, after some users had reported data loss problems. The company also pushed cumulative updates to all the older versions of the operating system, including version 1809. In a blog entry, the first in a series, Microsoft goes into depth about its testing process, and its plans to fix it up for next time. Now, more than a month after being pulled, the update is generally available to consumers. But, unlike the release earlier this year where Microsoft aggressively rolled out 1803, the company is slowing down the cadence this time around. Such users may typically get Windows 10 feature updates automatically from Microsoft's Windows Update service, but they won't arrive if the telemetry readings are off.

Apart from recurring sound issues that always seem to find its way in every Windows 10 update, the 1809 update also brought a file deletion bug that brought havoc on users by deleting their personal files.
