Petta poster out: Rajinikanth and Simran rock the new look

Petta is directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

In the new poster, Rajinikanth and Simran are seen holding flower pots. This is the first time that Rajinikanth and Ajith are locking horns at the box-office in the history of Tamil cinema. Sun Pictures, the makers of Petta, has released a new poster which confirms that the film will release on Pongal 2019. In the same tweet, he also confirmed that his big-budget action film with Superstar is getting ready to light up screens during Pongal next year.

As of now, Ajith's Viswasam is expected to hit screens on January 10 if we take into consideration the team's Thursday sentiment while Rajinikanth's Petta is said to be coming out the next day on+ January 11. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also be seen making his Tollywood debut with this film.

The first look of Petta released in September and it presented Rajinikanth is a menacing look as opposed to the above happy looking picture.

Petta also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha Krishnan amongst others.

Petta was filmed in different parts of the country. It is also reportedly said that Karthik Subbaraj completed the shooting 2 weeks prior to the scheduled date. As far as completion goes, two of the three are already in post-production.

When was the last time Superstar Rajinikanth had a clash at the box office with a relatively known force?
