Rebel Wilson doubles down after being slammed for plus-size comments

"I'd like to make it known that every Black woman (and others) who was blocked, including myself, was very gracious and took the time to educate her on why she was incorrect and wrong in her erasure of plus-sized icons Queen Latifah and Mo'Nique-though we didn't need to", Kent explains.

"In a couple of well-intentioned moments, hoping to lift my fellow plus sized women up, I neglected to show the proper respect to those who climbed this mountain before me like Mo'Nique, Queen Latifah, Melissa McCarthy, Ricki Lake and likely many others", she said.

Twitter was quick to point out, however, that Wilson overlooked a number of plus-size actresses who've starred in romantic comedies before.

Wilson did respond to Mo'Nique when she directly reached out, but that doesn't seem to have stopped her from blocking people for saying exactly what Mo'Nique is saying.

Rebel Wilson has found herself at the centre of some almighty backlash over her upcoming film, Isn't It Romantic? "I never want to disrespect anyone".

As Georgia Byrd in 2006's "Last Holiday", Queen Latifah fell for LL Cool J's Sean Williams after embarking on a luxury European vacation assuming she had just weeks to live.

"Yeah I of course know of these movies", Wilson replied to the critic. Technically those films are [categorized]/billed as a studio rom-com with a sole lead. "So there's a slight grey area".

Although the Pitch Perfect star has tried to somewhat quieten the talk, several fans have since taken to Twitter to claim that the actress had "blocked" them on Twitter for correcting her assumption.

Wilson produced and will star in Isn't It Romantic, a film about a woman disenchanted with love who mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy.

"Isn't It Romantic" also stars Liam Hemsworth, Adam DeVine, and Priyanka Chopra.
