Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 17 million copies worldwide

The most infamous have been from YouTuber Shirrako, who posted such charmingly named videos as "Red Dead Redemption 2 - Beating up annoying feminist" and "Red Dead Redemption 2 - Deporting A Mexican".

After launching the Wild West adventure on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Rockstar Games saw a massive return after the game began setting records.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, released their earnings report today for Q2 of fiscal year 2019 and in the process divulged new information about the sales of the recently released Red Dead Redemption 2. The most impressive part of it all is the fact that it sold-in more units in its first 8 days out on retail shelves than the original game, Red Dead Redemption, did in its first 8 years on consoles. That's what happens when your game is one of the most anticipated, well-reviewed games in a decade. By all means, Red Dead Redemption 2 does a lot of things right, and manages to be one of the most immersive gaming experiences ever created. In addition to the base game, Rockstar is planning to launch Red Dead Online - a highly anticipated multiplayer expansion that takes place in Red Dead Redemption 2's open world.

Take-Two Interactive released its financials for the second quarter ended September 30, reporting an 11 percent increase in revenue to $492.7 million thanks to successful sales of National Basketball Association 2K19.
