But Cora's hometown party wouldn't be complete without some Red Sox players.

Caguas Mayor William Miranda Torres will be on hand upon arrival in Puerto Rico and will escort Cora, Werner, and the trophy to Caguas.

That led to speculation that Cora and the Red Sox might refuse an invitation from the White House, following the footsteps of the National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors and Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. I just wanted to help my people. So whenever we have to make the decision we'll make it.

TMZ reported earlier in the week that the Red Sox bought roughly $300,000 worth of booze while partying at a nightclub in Los Angeles after they defeated the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series Sunday night.
