Sixers edge Hornets in OT despite Walker's 60

The Philadelphia 76ers have been the talk of the National Basketball Association since they acquired Jimmy Butler in a trade earlier this week.

Philadelphia did, in fact, bring in Butler to make plays in crunch time.

Walker scored 58 points, going 20-for-29 shooting, through regulation to put up the most points of any National Basketball Association player this season.

It became obvious something really special was happening in the third quarter, when Walker scored 16 points in the frame.

Walker finished 21 of 34 from the field and had six 3-pointers.

Over the course of the next 7 1/2 minutes, the Hornets missed 12 straight shots and mixed in four turnovers, scoring only on two Walker free throws. Embiid's double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds combined with Simmons' 23 points and 11 rebounds powers the Sixers behind Jimmy Butler's game-winning shot in overtime. This time he was making everything, including banking in a 3-pointer to give the Hornets the lead with 44 seconds left in regulation.

Lamb recorded a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Cody Zeller added 10 points for the Hornets, who were opening a three-game homestand.

Willy Hernangomez then stole a Ben Simmons pass, but Butler blocked a Walker jumper, setting up his own offensive heroics.

Walker and the Hornets played hosts to the Philadelphia 76ers, giving us a back-and-forth game that required overtime.

76ers: Host the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.
