Spice Girls to announce reunion for United Kingdom tour without Victoria Beckham

They will be without Victoria Beckham, who is refraining from joining the tour to focus on her fashion line, according to the United Kingdom media outlet, The Sun, which originally broke the news.

After months of speculation, the band confirmed this afternoon on Twitter that they will embark on a United Kingdom tour next year, with a date at the home of the Black Cats on June 6, the first gig at the stadium in three years.

Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Horner will reportedly be launching brand new social media accounts, which'll include a video with the announcement. Beckham wrote, referencing the group's reunion during the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London.

The Spice Girls will first perform on June 1 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, before heading to the Coventry Ricoh Arena on June 3 and Sunderland Stadium Of Light on June 5.

"We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching-up and reminiscing about the unbelievable times we have spent together", the statement read.

While the "Viva Forever" singer is confident the tour will be well-received, she admitted some of her bandmates were more cautious.

Speaking on UK TV show "Loose Women", she said: "It's just the four of us, but she might join us at some point". "It'd be a shame if she didn't".

"[We've known for] like five, six months now, it's all, the wheels are in motion, tickets go on sale on Friday".

Since the Spice Girls dissolved in 1998, Beckham has become a hugely successful fashion designer, launching her namesake clothing line in 2008.
