Stop What You're Doing: There's a Breaking Bad Movie in the Works

However, an unnamed source close to the production has allegedly confirmed that the film is in fact Breaking Bad.

Years after ending its fifth and final season in 2013, show creator Vince Gilligan confirmed to Variety on Tuesday, November6 (Wednesday, November 7 in the Philippines) that he is now working on a film connected to the widely-loved, famed series as its scriptwriter, executive producer, and possible director.

The Journal reported the film has a working title of "Greenbriar" and they say it "tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom".

That's still speculation though, and stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have given nothing away yet. Luckily, it'll be helmed by series creator, Vince Gilligan, so we can rest easy knowing the project is in good hands.

As fans will know, both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are set and filmed in New Mexico. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul producing alums Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are linked to the project, as well.

Work is slated to begin in a few weeks in Albuquerque, New Mexico on a film tentatively titled Greenbrier, the New Mexico Film Office confirmed to the Albuquerque Journal, and run through February.

"It wouldn't feel as satisfying if it was just a cameo or an Alfred Hitchcock walkthrough". So it might not be too long until we get to see it.
