Sources say the Monarch has made the "very thoughtful gesture" towards Ragland because she respects her so much.

According to the Daily Mail, the Queen has asked Ragland to join the family at their Norfolk estate for the holiday, an invitation that has reportedly never been extended to Kate Middleton's family.

Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, memorably broke protocol past year by inviting Meghan as the first fiancée to attend Christmas with the royal family before her wedding to Harry in May.

Ragland, 62, was the only member of Meghan's family to attend her and Prince Harry's wedding in May.

Meghan Markle rocked an electric blue ensemble from her wedding dress designer Givenchy - but what most style spotters failed to notice was that the fabulous pleated skirt that she combined with the matching sweater was see-through!

The Duchess of Cambridge's family has joined the royals at church on Christmas morning but they have stayed at nearby Anmer Hall rather than Sandringham itself. Meghan is very close to her mum.

Per the outlet's source, Meghan and Camilla (who is Prince Harry's stepmother) "clearly really like each other" and their relationship is full of "real warmth and support".

According to an insider, the invitation was meant as a "thoughtful gesture" to the 37-year-old, who is now pregnant with her first child.

It looks like the Royal Family will be adding a seat to their Christmas table this holiday season. Instead, the royals give silly gifts - one year, Middleton reportedly even gave Harry a plastic Grow Your Own Girlfriend kit.

The family then wakes up and walks over to St Mary Magdalene for church services, heads home for lunch, then enjoys their time together before heading back to their respective homes.
