Why does Pakistan want Kashmir? They can't manage four provinces: Shahid Afridi

"Pakistan doesn't want Kashmir".

In a press conference Former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi said that Pakistan doesn't need #Kashmir and let Kashmir be Independent.

Afridi, the former Pakistan cricket captain, was addressing students at British Parliament in London when he made the remarks, according to a report in NDTV.

He went on to say that it is painful to see people dying in the state, and humanity should stay alive.

"People in Kashmir are dying and it hurts a lot to see innocent dying, whatever religion they may belong to". Pakistan doesn't want Kashmir. "Pakistan does not need Kashmir; It is not able to even handle the four provinces it has". Humanity is a big thing.

Minutes after a video of his speech appeared on social media, his comments made headlines on Indian media outlets.

He said, "My comments are being misconstrued by Indian media!"

"The Musharraf formula failed because Kashmir can only be resolved under United Nations resolutions", he said. I m passionate about my country and greatly value the struggles of Kashmiris. Myself along with every Pakistani support Kashmiri freedom struggle.

This is not the first time that Afridi's comments about Kashmir stirred a controversy. Back in April, the cricketer had tweeted on the worrisome situation at the "Indian Occupied Kashmir".

Imran Khan, since taking power in August, 2018, has also been raking up the Kashmir issue, while also mentioning that Pakistan wants friendly relations with India. Kashmir is unresolved dispute & under brutal Indian occupation. "Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?"
