'Game of Thrones' trailer shows a chill creeping into Westeros

'Game of Thrones' trailer shows a chill creeping into Westeros

And the HBO hit released the very first teaser for the final season Thursday.

It's not safe, however, to be literally anywhere in Westeros, as the Night King and his army of White Walkers are now moving south towards Winterfell, and who knows where else, bringing Winter with them. It doesn't contain any new footage, so those looking to avoid spoilers don't have anything to worry about. That, or the PR team at HBO is really harping on the whole "A Song of Ice and Fire" thing (the name of the book series that the show is based on) before the series concludes.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the final season of Game of Thrones as we learn it. A statue of a lion is also engulfed in flames before the ice and fire meet in the middle.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Teaser Has a Battle of Ice and Fire

As pointed out by our own Kim Renfro, "GoT" composer Djawadi Ramin's "Winter is Here", from the season seven finale, can be heard in the teaser. There are still two fire dragons to one ice dragon at this point though, so that inevitable clash is sure to happen, possibly in favor of the fire. The network has not released an official premiere date yet for season eight. The final six episodes are said to be the longest episodes of the series yet with the production cost is estimated to reach $15 million per episode. Follow along with all of our show coverage here.
