Kay Felder released by Raptors 905 after domestic violence arrest

The Toronto Raptors' G League affiliate, Raptors 905, has released former National Basketball Association guard Kay Felder after his arrest on domestic violence charges outside Toronto on Monday morning, the team announced.

"The G League is aware of the allegations against Raptors 905 guard Kahlil (Kay) Felder and has placed him on indefinite leave pending a full investigation into the matter", a league spokesperson said.

Felder's arrest was originally reported by TMZ Sports.

Felder was demoted by the Toronto Raptors to the team's G League affiliate back in October - and he's been playing for the Raptors 905 squad ever since. The victim called a family member, who then called police.

Monday's arrest may cost Felder any hope of returning to the National Basketball Association.

He also played a combined 16 games for the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons last season, before signing with the Toronto Raptors in August.

Felder himself has yet to comment on the situation.

The 23-year-old Felder averaged 24.4 ppg his final year with the Golden Grizzlies and has played in 58 career National Basketball Association games with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons. He's been released from custody and is due back in court later this month.

Felder, 23, was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round (No. 54 overall) in 2016, and traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers later that night.
