Mortal Kombat 11 Revealed, Arriving Next Year

Under the illusion of presenting Best Sports or Racing Game, NetherRealm Studios boss and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon made his way onto the stage to present the award nominees, but that's not how things played out.

"'Mortal Kombat' is back and better than ever in the next evolution of the iconic franchise", the official description states.

Warner Bros has released the first screenshots for Mortal Kombat 11, showing Scorpion and Raiden; the two characters that were featured in the game's debut trailer.

Boasting a new graphics engine, MK11 promises to showcase "every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment" and bring you "so close to the fight you can feel it".

The spine-ripping, heart-stabbing, tooth-smashing, face-eating supernatural superkillers of Mortal Kombat will return next year in Mortal Kombat 11, announced today. The trailer also included a release date for Mortal Kombat 11, and it's not far off. According to the developers, Mortal Kombat 11 lets players build their own customized versions of each character with unique attacks and special moves.

There will be an event in January, where we'll get to see more about the game. Just about everything short of an X-ray attack was teased in the CGI fight, which can hopefully be one mechanic to be dropped from Mortal Kombat X.

Hype levels will be high for this one, which officially releases on April 23, 2019.
