Rajinikanth's '2.0' enters the 500 Cr club

Starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, the film has been a record-breaker since the day of its release and is behind only SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion. "500 crores worldwide. We at Dharma Movies are so proud to be associated with the Hindi version of this movie marvel". The film grossed Rs 96.25 crore as its first weekend box office collection. The mega flick is showing strong signs of retaining its hold in theaters for atleast another month and the final figures are going to astronomical according to national trade analysts. Thursday 20.25 cr, Friday 18 cr, Sat 25 cr, Sun 34 cr, Monday 13.75 cr, Tue 11.50 cr, Wednesday 9.50 cr.

Shankar's film is also the highest grossing Hindi film of Rajinikanth's career.

Touted to be one of the most expensive films ever made in India, 2.0 was reportedly made at a budget of Rs 550 crore out of which about Rs 370 crore was recovered by selling satellite, digital and distribution rights before the release on November 29, as per a report in LiveMint.

Karan Johar, who is presenting the Hindi version of the film, shared the news on Twitter. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, released in over 10,500 screens across the world. Though there is a significant dip in the collection, the film is still pulling in a lot of crowd to theatres. The actor has already scored a box office hattrick with Gold and Pad Man.
