‘Stranger Things 3: The Game’ Announced, First Trailer Revealed

Developer BonusXP will be bringing Stranger Things 3: The Game to "all platforms" including the Nintendo Switch in the near future.

Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer announced the new title at The Game Awards, which was described as an "action adventure RPG that pays homage to the 16-bit era".

Although a release date hasn't been confirmed we'd expect Stranger Things 3: The Game to come out close to the show's own release, which is now expected around summer 2019.

The video game allows you to play as the characters from Stranger Things, including pixelated versions of Chief Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin). Before season 2, they collaborated on a Stranger Things mobile game that had a nice Legend of Zelda feel to it. (No word on PlayStation 4 - at least not yet.) There's no details on how this will work, but more than likely, we'll see players take control of characters within this particular universe, solving puzzles and possibly taking on enemies, depending on who's involved. There's a video game tie-in to the upcoming third season. But we'll find out soon enough, fans. Maybe a new Netflix series trailer can give us an idea.? From Funko Pops to comic books to themed Monopoly games to "retro" shirts you can buy at Target for $8 to a line of creative candy that includes gummy Eggo waffles, the licensing has been infinite and incredible. However, we can expect both to arrive around the same time, sometime in 2019.
