Tillerson Breaks Silence About Trump's 'Undisciplined' Style

"I think he grew exhausted of me being the guy every day that told him you can't do that and let's talk about what we can do". "He was lazy as hell".

President Trump took a break from his Twitter tirade against Special Counsel Robert Mueller Friday to hurl insults at his former secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, describing him as "dumb as a rock" and "lazy as hell".

A billionaire from his time at the oil giant, Tillerson has been largely quiet since he was sacked by Trump in a tweet in March.

As President Donald Trump spent most of Friday morning ranting and raving about his alleged misgivings about the Russian Federation investigation being led by special counsel Robert Mueller, news also broke that a former official in his administration had some of the same criticisms the president was leveling. "Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State".

Tillerson teed off on Trump Thursday night, saying the commander-in-chief didn't like to read briefing papers and had to be talked out of taking actions that would be illegal.

"Often, the president would say here's what I want to do and here's how I want to do it", Tillerson recalled at a fundraiser for the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. "I think he really is trying to act on his instincts".

Tillerson In First Public Appearance Says Trump 'Undisciplined,' 'Doesn't Read'

He said Tillerson "didn't have the mental capacity needed for the job" while praising Tillerson's replacement, Mike Pompeo. In leaving, Tillerson said Washington, D.C., can be a "very mean-spirited town".

Addressing a question on Trump's response to deadly riots at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last August, where he said there were "very fine people" on both sides, Tillerson threw shade by telling Fox News that "the president speaks for himself".

Reports later surfaced that, actually, Tillerson had called Trump, "a f**king moron".

The tensions grew palpable after media reported that Mr Tillerson had called the president an expletive-laced moron - and the secretary had to make a public appearance to emphasise his support for the president (without explicitly denying the reports).

At the time, Trump described Tillerson as "a world class player" who made "massive deals" in countries including Russian Federation. "And I can tell you who is going to win".
