'Active shooter' situation, shots fired at New Jersey UPS facility, police say

Police first received calls at about 8:45 a.m. for an incident at UPS Mail Innovations facility, located on the 200th block of Birch Creek Road, Logan Township police said.

Logan Township police said there was an "active shooter situation going on", but provided no further information on a suspect or any possible injuries.

New Jersey police responded Monday morning to reports of an active shooter at an area UPS facility, according to reports.

A Gloucester County fire official added that he was told the incident involved a fight between two people inside.

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the shooting and footage taken by WPVI at the scene showed officers behind a police vehicle near a loading ramp outside the facility. Gilbert said law enforcement was now in "fact-gathering" mode.

'We are working with law enforcement as they respond and can not provide information about the identity of people involved at this time, ' UPS said in a statement.

Schools in the area were put on a modified lockdown.

Police in Gloucester County are on site of what is being described as an active shooter scene at a large warehouse distribution facility in Logan Township, New Jersey.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
