Aguero and Kompany update

The Premier League clash with West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on February 26 will also need to be rescheduled after City effectively confirmed a place in the Carabao Cup final with a 9-0 victory over Burton Albion in the semifinal first leg.

Pep Guardiola is unsure if Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany will be fit for Manchester City's game against Wolves, live on Monday Night Football.

Pep Guardiola has explained that any additions to his squad are unlikely this month, due to the difficulty of finding the right kind of player in the January window.

Guardiola accepts often, even by their managers, players' domestic lives are not given the prominence they should in the assessment of their performances.

"We cannot substitute the mother and when the family can't be there, it's hard", said Guardiola.

"They have to handle the situation and of course he is not alone, he has friends".

"Sergio was sick after the Liverpool game but joined in the training session today", he added.

Central defender Vincent Kompany has also been struggling since the Liverpool game, Guardiola revealed.

Ederson, Danilo and Fernandinho are all Brazilian, while Jesus shares a language with Portugal global Bernardo Silva.

"We realised that last season in Carabao Cup, we saw how complicated they are", he said.

He said: "Sometimes we have done it but normally when you want to buy one player it is for the next five or six years and normally it doesn't happen in this window. I hope they'll be OK for Monday". We will try to help them.

'I think it won't be a problem for the next months'. "I hope [they will be able to play] but I don't know".
