All hail 'The Wall:' Samsung's new 219-inch TV

Samsung showed a massive 219-inch TV at the CES technology show in Las Vegas, CNN reports.

"The Wall 2019 takes personalization to the next level, with modular panels that consumers can position in any size or shape to meet their needs", the company said in a statement. Called the LG Signature OLED TV R, the TV is expected to go on sale later this year. Now, the ultimate game-watching platform has arrived, and it's going to blow you away.

It wouldn't be a CES roundup without mention of 8K. Heralded for its revolutionary microLED technology, this TV will use less energy than current televisions you probably own now, but that's only half the fun. It is powered by the company's second-gen Alpha 9 processor. 8K resolution delivers the most realistic pictures that look sharp, vivid, and detailed. This is now a reality, thanks to LG, which unveiled a 65-inch rollable TV at this year's CES.

Is this really "the world's most cinematic TV"? That puts the U9F on par with Samsung's Q9FN QLED, which debuted in 2018 and became one of the best TVs of past year. The Hisense 75U9F is a 75-inch Quantum Dot screen with Android TV, 1,000 local dimming zones and a peak brightness of 2,200 nits. Last year, Samsung had also announced a 146-inch modular display.

Sometimes less is more.
