Antonio Brown Trade Not Off The Table Says Steelers President

The Antonio Brown situation has reached a level of seriousness where the Steelers' team president is now saying publicly that he doesn't expect Brown to be with the team when training camp begins in July and that everything short of a release is on the table. "We have two months to go before we can do anything".

While it's not a guarantee Antonio Brown's time with the Pittsburgh Steelers is over, it looks like it's heading in that direction.

On top of everything that is going on, Rooney also revealed that Brown has refused to return repeated phone calls from him and coach Mike Tomlin.

The report comes from Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, who tweeted out the following on Thursday afternoon.

"All options are on the table", Rooney said. "We're not closing the door on anything at this point".

The Steelers face a $21 million cap hit if they trade Brown this offseason. During that week Brown even made it seem as though he wished to be traded from the team, despite reports saying he never demanded a move.

Brown and the Steelers stirred up controversy in the final week of the regular season when it was reported that Brown had sat out Pittsburgh's must-win Week 17 matchup not because of injury but because he'd been benched. "If we decide something has to be done, we'll figure out how to deal with that". We'll see how things play out. Brown registered 104 receptions with a league-leading 15 receiving touchdowns through 15 games in 2018, and he has reached the 1,000-yard receiving mark in seven of his nine NFL seasons.
