Big Boi, Travis Scott to join Maroon 5 in Super Bowl show

It's official. Travis Scott and Big Boi are going to the Super Bowl with Maroon 5.

Performing at the Super Bowl now amounts to an endorsement of the NFL's policies, and sources tell Variety that multiple artists of color - including Cardi B (who is featured on Maroon 5's recent hit "Girls Like You"), Outkast, Mary J. Blige, Usher and Nicki Minaj - were considered or approached to perform with Maroon 5.

Levine previously spoke only in hypothetical terms - joking that "whoever is lucky enough to get that gig probably is gonna crush it" - when Ellen DeGeneres asked him about the Super Bowl during an appearance on her show in November. It's definitely a rumor. Other big names that have taken the stage in recent years include, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz. The group's association with the big game stirred controversy and led over 75,000 people to sign a Change.org petition urging them to back out in support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who remains out of the league after starting the #TakeAKnee movement to promote racial equality. Scott himself donated $500,000 to Dream Corps.

Some of the biggest names in music and entertainment have performed at Super Bowl halftime shows over the years, including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen just to name a few.

AL SHARPTON BLASTS TRAVIS SCOTT FOR SIGNING ON TO PERFORM AT SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW "I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I mean, I haven't seen that much on it besides the headlines and the click-bait and all that good stuff, but hopefully it doesn't work out".
