Criminal Minds to End With Season 15

Criminal Minds to End With Season 15

ET reports that CBS has renewed the show for season 15, but it is going to be its very last one!

'It's really bittersweet, but I'm so, so grateful to CBS for giving us this heads-up, ' showrunner Erica Messer told TVLine.

She added: 'But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly'. It kicked off this year with its 300th episode, which picked up from the season 13 cliffhanger when two members of the BAU were captured by cult leader Benjamin Merva (Michael Hogan).

Now in its fourteenth season, the crime drama series - it "revolves around an elite team of Federal Bureau of Investigation profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again", according to the show's website - was created by Jeff Davis and premiered in 2005. The crime series, which is show-run by executive producer Erica Messer, follows an elite team of Federal Bureau of Investigation profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, attempting to anticipate their next moves before they strike again. I know a lot of people my parents' age still enjoy the show to this day.

Even so, Messer expects the series finale to be a "tearjerker". Executive producer and director Glenn Kershar will be directing the emotional installment. "I think in honoring the series and saying goodbye, it's probably going to feel like a little bit of a eulogy". That's not my instinct, mainly because I've been here for so long with all of these voices, I just don't want that to be how it ends for them.

It's official: Criminal Minds is coming to an end.
