Jets To Hire Adam Gase As Next Head Coach

That was before Sean McVay transformed the offensive coaching craze and the Dolphins went 23-25 in three years with Miami. NY was linked to Kliff Kingsbury, but he took the Arizona Cardinals job.

His previous experience includes a brief stint as the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears in 2014, as well as the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator in 2013 when Peyton Manning threw a record-setting 55 passing touchdowns in a single season. Miami fired him following the end of the 2018 regular season.

Dowell Loggains is expected to be named as an offensive assistant with the Jets, sources told ESPN's Jeff Darlington.

However, the Jets weren't discouraged by the Dolphins' stagnant offenses under Gase, and now he'll get another chance to prove that earlier hype was warranted. The team has a young, promising quarterback in Sam Darnold, almost $100 million available to spend in free agency and the third overall pick in April's draft.

The Jets fired Todd Bowles on December 30 after going 24-40 in four campaigns at the helm.

National Football League head coaching vacancies have started to get filled up, but Mike McCarthy remains on the market. It's been previously reported McCarthy that McCarthy will be picky about his next coaching job and wouldn't be averse to sitting out the season if he didn't find the ideal fit. It was not clear if Rhule was offered the job.

Adam Gase has been hired by the New York Jets as their new head coach, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

It was rumored McCarthy was going to either the Cleveland Browns or the New York Jets.

Kingsbury was hired Tuesday as the Arizona Cardinals' head coach.
