Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz Prediction, Preview, and Odds

They've bounced back in some regard by notching back-to-back wins heading into Friday's matchup with the Utah Jazz.

Besides Kuzma, the rest of the Lakers' lineup includes Brandon Ingram at the other forward, JaVale McGee in the middle, and Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball at guards, making it one of the youngest starting groups in the league with two 21-year-olds and two 23-year-olds.

But after some extra work the day before, Kuzma came out on fire Wednesday night, sinking 16 of 24 from the field, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range.

Assuming James does not return prior to the January 16 date provided by the Lakers, he will have missed 11 games up to that point. If James doesn't play Friday night, he'll have another chance in Utah on March 27 when the Lakers play their second game at Vivint Arena. The Utah Jazz are averaging 107.8 points on 46.4 percent shooting and allowing 105.5 points on 46 percent shooting. The Utah Jazz are shooting 34.6 percent from beyond the arc and 72.6 percent from the free throw line. The Utah Jazz have won seven of their last nine home games. They will be going for their second win in a row and fourth win in their last five contests when they face the Lakers on Friday.

The under has been a very popular trend not only when these teams meet, but in their games overall this season. You combine the Lakers and Jazz games together and you have 47 unders this season, which is almost 56 percent of their combined games. Kyle Kuzma erupted for 41 points to lead the way in the win. The Jazz have held five of their last 10 opponents under 100 points. Until then, the Jazz will simply have to hope that they can weather their own injury storm and come away with a few key victories over beatable teams in the coming days, including against LA, as they aim to surge up the standings and get back in the playoff mix. Give me the under.
