Man City boss Guardiola: January market can be good opportunity

Man City boss Guardiola: January market can be good opportunity

United had a free week after Derby County dumped them out of the Carabao Cup in September and used the time to hone tactical plans and undertake additional fitness work.

'It would be a dream, everyone is invited, ' Guardiola said. Sky Sports first reported in December that Niko Kovac is interested in Chelsea's youngster Hudson-Odoi who wasn't getting regular game-time as at December a year ago.

'This morning I saw the schedule because the Everton game will be fixed for another week.

"Sergio after Liverpool was sick", Guardiola added.

Guardiola is hoping top scorer Sergio Aguero and captain Vincent Kompany will be fit for Monday. But when it's 1-0 it just hurts that little bit more. "Vincent is also recovering".

The Bavarians were ready and willing to pay £30m for the player as they remain desperate to see him move to Allianz Arena before the end of the season.

But he says if City can put a run together like they did last term, then Liverpool will be pushed all the way.

A number of his close friends and family, including his mum, spent the festive period in Manchester.

"And when you are exhausted they can bring on two new players to do that".

Their arrival in Manchester before Christmas coincided with an upturn in the forward's form, and Guardiola said: "The private life is the private life and if they need something we are there".

"But of course we cannot substitute the mother and, when the family can't be there, it's hard".

Ederson, Danilo and Fernandinho are all Brazilian, while Jesus shares a language with Portugal worldwide Bernardo Silva.

"I think they were four points behind [at the start of the weekend] and that's not a massive margin".
