Palestine Rejects US Peace Draft on Shared Jerusalem

This hateful demonization is often expressed by Palestinians, including Palestinian leaders.

He lived in the United States for 12 years. However, Palestinians have rejected Washington's involvement in the settlement of their conflict with Israelis after Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to the Holy City despite the condemnation of the Muslim world and the United Nations recommendations to refrain from establishing diplomatic missions in the city until its legal status is settled.

On the very day the United States opened its embassy in Jerusalem, with a level of colonial self-indulgence not seen the last century, Israeli snipers were busy shooting at thousands of unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza, leaving 58 dead, including women, children, medics and journalists.

On the same day, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Ramallah condemned the Israeli government's recent allocation of 1,200 dunums (300 acres) of land for the enlargement of the Jewish-only Efrat Settlement south of Bethlehem.

Citing what it said was a source briefed by the Americans, the television report said the plan would entail Israel annexing Jewish settlement blocs in the West Bank while isolated settlements would either be evacuated or their construction halted.

The report said the full proposal will not be unveiled until April 9.

"From what we understand, it will not be presented before the election", Danon said.

"Without any official declarations, the Israeli government is preventing the viability and contiguity of a future Palestinian state, while treating lands in Area C as its own", observe the authors of the report.

"The implications of the abovementioned developments are far-reaching for Israel, the Palestinians and the region as a whole".

Israel's Channel 13 has leaked what it says are the contents of President Trump's "deal of the century" peace plan for Israel and Palestine.

In December 2018, the Palestinian Authority "presidential office" stressed that Mahmoud Abbas was to have "urgent conversations" with Arab and global bodies about "the risky Israeli escalation", which among other things Abbas's office said is being expressed by "the defilement of the holy sites". The US has long promised to make such a plan publicly available, but has yet to do so.
