Petta box office collection Day 5: Rajinikanth film is a victor

Rajinikanth starrer action flick is doing good but having a competition along with it by Ajith's movie Viswasam. Read to know more.

Rajnikanth starrer action flick received a flying start at the box office in Tamil Nadu and it also performs well at the U.S. box office, according to the trade analyst the movie has minted 16 crores as its first-day box office collection it grabs the fourth position in the list of highest grossing movies in Tamil Nadu. Directed and written by Karthik Subbaraj, the film opened to a positive response and is earning huge at the ticket windows.

Petta is also ahead of Thala Ajith's Viswasam in the rest of the parts of India.


Petta recently crossed Rs 100-crore mark at the worldwide box office.

On the release day, Viswasam had special morning shows for fans, but it had normal number of shows on its second day across Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, Ajith's "Viswasam" has managed to collect a total of Rs 33.50 crore in two days at the box office.

Petta is ruling the overseas centres as well. Petta has a star-studded cast with Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, M. Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, J. Mahendran and Guru Somasundaram playing important roles. Overall, the Ajith's film, which has Nayanthara in the female lead, has grossed over Rs 15 crore in its first weekend at the overseas box office.
